Almost all of us have experienced this at some point using windows.
You go to edit a file in Windows and despite being logged in as an administrator, it tells you the file is restricted and you need permissions. You scratch your head thinking that you are Admin and still it is throwing the error!! WHY??
Well, we also do not know the reason behind it but you can use this simple workaround to edit the file with Admin rights.
In the video above, Amit Agarwal from Digital Inspiration demonstrates an easy trick to get around the error. If you're logged in as an administrator, you'll sometimes find that Windows stops you from editing certain files if you try to open the file directly. If you run the program capable of editing the file—in the case of the video example, using Notepad to access the Windows host file which is stored as a plaintext—in administrator mode you can then access the file in question even though Windows stopped you from opening the file through Explorer.
Let us know if you also have some tricks to combat this overly protective behavior of windows.
