Youtube.com is the biggest video host site today and we all like to share the video with friends on it. But when you make the video using your high resolution camera and check out the video size; it comes to be of many Megabytes (MBs). The issue with high size is that it takes hell lot of time to upload on youtube.

To reduce the size of your video, you need not go anywhere if you have windows XP, Vista or windows 7 OS. You can use the Windows Movie maker program to reduce the size of your video (Screen shots are for Windows Vista, but the same options are available in other versions also).

	1)      Click Start->Windows Movie Maker.
	2)     Click File->Import Video. Select your Video and click OK.
	Your video will be listed in the movie maker. You can see the video 'Butterfly' has been imported in the picture.
	3)   Locate the storyline panel at the bottom of the movie maker screen. Just drag and drop your video from above to this storyline panel.

4) Click File->Publish Movie.

Select the location where you would like to save your movie and click next..

Enter your movie name and browse the Location and click Next.

A) On the movie setting dialog, you can select the desired size and quality of your video. Click on ‘More Settings” if all are not visible. Select “other Settings” and then open the drop down options. You can here select various speed options according to a LAN or internet speed.

Recommended settings is “Windows Media Portable Device (1.0 Mbps)”. The setting is good for today’s internet speed. Off course you can select higher speeds if your internet connection speeds are higher.

Click Next and then save.

B) In case you want to reduce your video to a pre-defined size, you can specify the size by choosing the “Compress to”. This is generally not recommended as it may affect the quality of your video significantly.

      Click Publish. Your video size would now be reduced according to the specifications. You can now upload it with ease on YouTube.
