Last week, Google enabled an interesting feature: custom backgrounds for its search page. We have seen this immensely popular feature previously on Microsoft's search engine bing.com
Now, the feature is available internationally, and to highlight it, Google collaborated with several well-known artists, who’ve created a gallery of background images, which will be featured on the Google homepage over the next 24 hours.
Unfortunately, the feature does not work with older versions of Google chrome. I tried the feature on google chrome version 1.0.154.36 and the behavior was really weird.
1) I click on 'Change background Image' on the lower left side of google.com page and Google takes me to Log in Screen. I log in and then this screen is visible to select the picture.

2) Just after 2-3 seconds, the google redirects me to the Google's log in page again. Initially, I thought that there is something wrong with my system, but when I tried again, the same behavior got repeated many times.

This forced me to upgrade my chrome to the latest 5.0.375.70 and the new feature works fine with it. But it seems Google is not worried about the backward compatibilty of their new features.
Also, I could not find any information about the supported versions of various browsers on the official annoucement of this feature by Google.
I could not test it on older versions of internet explorer and Mozilla but it worked well on IE8 and Mozilla 5.0.
Has anyone of you also seen this strange behavior in any other browser. May be Google guys would like to fix the error for older versions.
