Are you curious to know what exactly is the trend today? I mean what are people in India or for that matter in any other country searching today?
If yes, then you have great tool from the search god Google. The tool is called Google Trends for search.
The tool helps you find the current or any particular day's search trends on Google. You just need to log on to http://Google.CO.IN/trends and it will automatically list the top 10 searches that are being done on Google INDIA (Google.co.in) currently.
If you are interested in some other country for current or past search trends, just change the google website's name to that country and the results will be in front of you.
For example, if you want to search trends for USA, the site is google.com/trends.
For India, the site is google.co.in/trends
But remember that the Trends data from google is not available for all countries. I checked for Australia, Sweden and Mexico and could not find the specific trends websites for them. It seems that India has a good google base and hence they have opened the trends data for us!! Thanks Google.
If you are interested in the top searches on a past date, click on the 'More hot searches' just below the top 10 searches and it will take you to a new page with top 20 searches. Here you can just select the date from the date selection option on top left corner of the window and find the search trend of that particular date.
If this is not enough, you can find out the trends for a particular word or phrase around the world too.
For example, if we make a trend search on the word 'Sex', we get the following results:
It seems sex is most searched term on Google from pakistan followed by India at number 3.
