Mr. Barack Obama (President Of USA) has taken a new initiative to provide information about how a tax payer's contribution is spent by his government. Compare this with situation in India, where Mr. Anna Hazare is fighting to make the system transparent and make politians accountable for the tax payers money. He is facing stiff resistance from political parties as they don't want to disclose how they spend tax payers money. General public knows how and what happens behind the scenes - most of money is indirectly pocketed by corrupt officials in India.
I appreciate the fact that USA government has taken this step to keep the information system transparent and have made it accessible to each and every citizen of USA. I hope that India too sees this kind of initiatives soon (I know that my hopes are flying too high!!).
Coming back to Barack Obama's initiative, Anybody can know the break up of the expenditure by just entering his paid tax here on White house website.
Although I am not a USA tax payer, but i just entered some random amounts and the system immediately shows me the break up of how that amount is utilized for country's development. Obviously, they do not ask you for your tax receipt number or something which can relate your specific tax payment but it is good to see the distribution on the basis of amount.
