  15. May 2011 by Soan

Google transit logo Are you the one who likes to travel by public transport? Then here is a very special service from Google called Google transit which helps you find the bus and metro routes from your source to destination with a simple click.

Google Transit in India The service is available in many countries including India. Google has covered all routes of Delhi metro, Chennai's MRTS, Kolkata's metro and Bangalore's public transport along with bus routes.

The feature looks quite promising and helps you find your way with exact bus numbers and bus stand names. It also calculates a tentative time of journey and helps you with number of stops too. The number of stops and time would only show the best estimated figures. It does not consider the traffic jams and other hurdles that you may face on Indian roads normally.

I just tried the search feature for finding out the way from Liberty cinema, Karol bagh, Delhi to Trident Hotel in Gurgaon, India. The transit path looks quite accurate with all the details down to bus number and number of minutes i need to walk etc.

Google Transit search is available on mobiles too to help you with bus numbers on the go. This would make sure that you are never lost in any metro city.
