We all need passport size photographs for pasting on Visa application forms,
college admission forms and other such activities.
Everytime you apply for a new service or Visa, they have their own specifications
with regard to dimensions and size of the picture. The norms are quite strict in
case of VISA applications and vary from country to country.
Here is an online facility called
ePassportPhoto.com which helps you create your
passport photo online.
How does it work?
Well...pretty simple. Take a photographs on your own and upload on the site. No
sign up required to use the service. Select the country and type of service for
which passport photo is required. VISA passport specifications are available for
almost all countries in their list.
You may not find your specific university's specification though. The generally
acceptable passport photo dimensions are available including PAN card photo for
India.
Once photo is uploaded, they also allow you to select the specific area of
photograph (called cropping). The cropping is only allowed as per the dimension
specifications chosen by you in earlier steps. You cannot change these while
cropping.
Once done, they create an image file (JPG or JPEG) with multiple (normally 4 in
number) snapshots of your passport size photo. This image file can be downloaded
and printed on any color printer easily. In fact, this is exactly what the picture
studios also do. They create your digital photos and print them on a good quality picture paper. Using this online service, you can certainly do that on your own now.
You can either order the prints from the site itself or do it on your own.
There is a small option which reads "No Thanks" if you don't want to order prints
from ePassportPhoto at the last step of wizard. Click this and you will be taken to
a page where you can download your image file for printing.
Here is a sample of an image that i created for myself. Forgive me for not clicking
this picture with white background :).
ENJOY!!
