H1B Premium Processing Re-Opens

USCIS has resumed H1B premium processing for all H1B Amendment, Transfer, Extension and Change of status applications starting 12 March 2019.

Long period of H1B premium processing suspension period created problems for H1B workers including fear of denial for transfers, driving license renewal delays.

Earlier on Feb 15, USCIS has opened premium processing for applications filed on or before Dec 21, 2018.

Also, on Jan 25, 2019, H1B premium processing was resumed or 2019 Cap Petitions by USCIS. Cap petitions means the NEW H1B applications that were selected in April 2018 Lottery.

Premium Processing for H-1B Case Transfer?

You can file the H1B premium processing request at the new USCIS service center that’s currently handling your case.

You should also send a copy of the center transfer notice with your premium processing request.

Example: If your case was transferred from California to Nebraska, you should file Premium processing upgrade application directly at Nebraska.

H1B, H4 + H4 EAD Premium in Same Application

With the new Biometric step added to H4 extensions, the H1B, H4 and H4 EAD applications file together will not receive the approvals in 15 days.

Only H1B stands to get result in 15 calendar days as H4 Biometric will take an average time of 17 days just for H1B dependent fingerprinting.

Sent Premium Application at Wrong Service Center?

If your petition was transferred and you send your premium processing request to the wrong center, USCIS will forward it to the petition’s current location. However, the premium processing clock will not start until the premium processing request has been received at the correct center.
