Bank has formally sent an email to all the customer who received the email about trial deposit to their accounts this morning.

Today, a lot of people including me received 3 emails from Synchrony bank asking to verify my Amazon credit builder account. I got suspicious as I did not open any such account.

The emails have been sent by legitimate email addresses (customer.service@mail.synchronybank.com from Synchrony bank. I believe that all people who either have Sam’s club Synchrony bank credit card or a direct bank account have received these emails in error.

As per report by Business Insider, Amazon and Synchrony bank have confirmed that these email notifications have been sent by mistake. No need to worry or take any action as has been asked in one of the email. Amazon and Synchrony bank are investigating the reason behind this unwanted trigger.

You can safely ignore these emails. It does look like a phishing attempt.

The three emails came in quick succession today with the subject line “A Trial Deposit Has Been Successfully Made to Your AMAZON CREDITBUILDER“.

Even though these emails have been sent in error, we recommend to NOT click on any link inside these emails.

The third email with subject “Action Required on Your Application” has no content in the email body.
