VFS global handles the Canada visa processes and send you an email update at each step of the process. The messages are more confusing than helpful.
Here we try to give you the meaning of each message so that you can understand what’s happening with your application.
These messages were received for Canadian visitor visa application at Sydney, Australia. The VFS global email messages start coming after you have attended your Biometric appointment.
#1 VFS Biometric Completion Message
Visa application, tracking ID No. XXXXX has been dispatched to OC from VAC
This message simply means that your Canada visa application “Fingerprints” and “Photo” data has been sent to Canadian embassy. This status message is sent by email to you immediately after you have finished biometrics.
#2 Envelope for Decision Received at Canada Visa Application Center
Visa application, tracking ID No. XXXX The envelope for the decision on the results of your visa that has been processed has been received at the Canadian Visa Application Center at SydneyOC, on the date. We will then send this to the Canadian Visa Application Center Sydney OC.
This status message means that VFS has created an envelope for your case to be sent to Canadian Embassy.
You will get this message probably on same day as you attended your fingerprints or biometric appointment.
This message is confusing as it gives the impression that decision has been made on your application which is not correct.
#3 Visa Application Received at VAC
Visa application, tracking ID No. XXXX has been received at the SydneyOC VAC on 2019-09-24 01:17:52 AM GMT Standard Time and is on transit to the IRCC Office in SydneyOC ,for processing.
This message means that your visa application has been received by VFS center and they are now sending it to Canadian Embassy.
#4 Wait for CIC passport submission email
After the previous VFS message, you will wait for an email directly from Canadian embassy ([email protected]) for submitting your passport. This message does not come from VFS email.
This email can take about 7-20 days to arrive.
Once you log in to your CIC account (facing problems in log in at cic website, Check solution here).
#5 Application Dispatched to OC from VAC
Visa application, tracking ID No. XXXX has been dispatched to OC from VAC, on 2019-10-02 07:45:50 AM GMT Standard Time for processing.
This status message means that your application decision envelope has been sent from VFS center to Canada Embassy/Consulate.
#5 Envelope for Decision On Result Processed
Visa application, tracking ID No. XXXX The envelope for the decision on the results of your visa that has been processed has been received at the Canadian Visa Application Center at SydneyOC, on the date. We will then send this to the Canadian Visa Application Center SydneyOC.
The “envelope for the decision on your visa application” means your application has reached a decision. It can be approval or denial.
After this message, VFS center will send your passport to Canada embassy for stamping.
#6 Application Received at VAC
Visa application, tracking ID No. XXXX has been received at the SydneyOC VAC on 2019-10-03 12:11:53 AM GMT Standard Time and is on transit to the IRCC Office in SydneyOC ,for processing. Please note this is an auto generated e.mail. Please do NOT reply to this email.
Your Canada visa application has been processed and received. This is just a status message to show the envelope movement. It can be ignored.
#7 Application Under Process at IRCC office
Visa application, tracking ID No.XXXX is under process at the IRCC Office.
Your application is currently being reviewed by Canada visa officer at Canadian embassy. It is under process.
Even though you have already received the CIC email to submit passport, VFS tells you that application is under process.
Do not worry, this simply means that your passport stamping is under process.
#8 Processed Decision Envelope Dispatched from IRCC Office
Visa application, tracking ID No. XXXX –Your processed decision envelope has been collected from the Canada Visa Application Centre in Canada Visa Application Centre,Sydney, on 2019-10-04 07:40:37 AM GMT Standard Time.
This message tells you that your decision envelope has been picked up by postal mail service. It is now in transit to Canada Embassy.
#9 Dispatched to IRCC office through OC office
Visa application, tracking ID No. XXXX is on transit and been dispatched to the IRCC Office through the SydneyOC Office, on 2019-10-04 06:21:14 AM GMT Standard Time for processing.
This message is confusing as it does not clearly tell you that your passport has been released from Canadian Embassy and is now in transit to VFS office. It is simply a message to tell that your passport is on the way back to VFS center.
#10 Decision Envelope Received at Canada Visa Application Center
The decision envelope for your application, tracking ID No. XXX has been received from the IRCC Office on 2019-10-04 06:26:34 AM GMT Standard Time at the Canada Visa Application Centre,Sydney and is ready for collection.Â
This VFS status message means that your passport has been received by VFS in their office. Basically, Canadian embassy has sent your passport to VFS.
You can visit VFS center now to collect your passport with stamped visa.
#11 Decision Envelope Picked Up
Visa application, tracking ID No. XXXX – Your processed decision envelope has been collected from the Canada Visa Application Centre in Canada Visa Application Centre,Sydney, on 2019-10-04 07:40:37 AM GMT Standard Time. Please note this is an auto generated e.mail. Please do NOT reply to this email.
This last message received from VFS means that you have picked up your passport from the Canada visa application center (VFS office).
