Employer sponsorship for Permanent Residence

Employer sponsorship is optional in Australia and you can directly file for permanent residency unlike US, where you need an employer to file for your green card.

If you have the required points, you will be selected and will get a PR even before you travel to Australia.
Applicants with 65+ points get the invitation to apply pretty fast. Once you have applied, you can expect to get the PR within 5-8 months.

H1B worker in US move to Australia

If you are currently working on H1B in US and fed up with long waiting for green card, Australia is a good option. They give you Permanent residency (Australian Green Card) even before you land there for the first time!

Please note that even if you move to Australia for work, your Green card application in US can stay active.
Remember that Green card in US is filed for future job and your i-140 remains active.
You can return to US in future if your priority date becomes current and the employer is ready to hire you.

Police Clearance Certificate for Australia Permanent Residency

Police verification is required for all adults (18+), who are part of your PR application, from all countries where they have lived in past 10 years.

    Thanks in advance!!!

    Hi Anil,
    Thank you in advance for your help.
    My points manually calculated;

    Age=30,Education=15,Experience=15,Language=10. Total=70
    However, when i want to submit my EOI, it somehow only calculates 55 which i suspect could be without the work experience likely. I have my general skills assessed by CPA but yet to assess employment. However wondering if there is a auto link to check that?

    • Anil Gupta
      Anil Gupta 7 Apr, 19 at 5:18 am

      What do you mean by ‘auto link’?
      The calculator given above is what is an automatic points calculator.

        Vj 7 Apr, 19 at 9:30 am

        Anil, what i mean is – my score auto calculated at 55. However, as mentioned, age- 30, education-15, language-10 so this adds up to 55. However, as i have more than 8 years experience outside australia, i should get another 15 points but CPA is yet to confirm on my skilled employment – is that why the points are not reflected in my EOI?

        • Anil Gupta
          Anil Gupta 7 Apr, 19 at 9:57 am

          Points in EOI are calculated based on what you enter.
          It cannot guess it automatically if you do not enter your correct work details.

          • Vj
            Vj 8 Apr, 19 at 3:10 am

            Clear on that but when i submit it shows 0 points for years of experience though i have updated from 2008 to current. From the confirmation page i see note below;
            Clients will only receive points for employment history for the last 10 years from the date they submit their EOI. If employment period exceeds 10 years during the time your EOI awaits to be invited then your indicative points score can change.

              I am not sure what you are doing in your EOI. It should show correct points if you have entered correct dates in your work experience section.

    Hi Anil,

    I love what you’re doing. Like everyone else I had a query as well. I will have 75 points(without state nomination) by August 2019. And my occupation falls under either of computer network professional or ICT security specialist. What are chances of getting invited if I lodge EOI in August? Thanks in advance.

      Australia PR invite depends on your total PR points. If you can get points for your selected ANZSCO code, you can get PR.

      Choice of education and job profile is your own.

    Hi Anil,

    How long would it take to get an invite for EOI (Australian PR Skill based 189) with 70 points for Chemcial Engineer ANZSCO: 233111 currently.
    I noticed that in the last round, they did not invite any 70 pointers, could this change or does it mean the cut off is now 70?
