If yes, then you can create a ‘One and Same Person Affidavit‘ and get it notarized to prove that all names belong to the same person.

This affidavit is also known as the ‘same name affidavit form’ and can be submitted for legal purposes such as immigration, Green card application, or PR for Australia, Canada, the UK, and other such countries.

You can either write this affidavit yourself or use an app to fill it out for you.

Affidavit for Multiple Names on Different Documents

#1 Enter your Details

Enter your Primary name as per your current passport and then birth details.

You are also required to enter your current residential address. This address can be anywhere in the world irrespective of your birthplace or home country.

#2 Enter Other Names

You can enter different versions of your name for yourself. This is the same as entering your alias name.

Make sure that you do not make any mistakes in the name spelling as they will be written on the affidavit PDF.

Should I consider Social media names as ‘Other Names’?

A lot of people get confused with respect to choosing which names are considered other names especially when we use different alias names on social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and others.

The rules for what is considered ‘other names’ vary by country and purpose. We suggest writing all the names that you think people (your friend circle and family) know you along with your social media names.

Examples:

• In the USA, it is expected and required by law that you consider all names like maiden name, social media names that people know you with, and names on all legal documents like passport, birth certificate, education documents, and others mentioned on this same name affidavit form.
• Other countries may have different requirements and may or may not require you to mention your name that you are not on any legal document.

Our suggestion is to use all names if you are not sure about the actual requirement to make the document universally acceptable.

#3 Enter Father’s Name

The last step in data entry is to fill in your father’s name. Once you are done, you can click the ‘validate and save’ button to check all your data.

#1 Download and fill the Transcripts form

You can print this Delhi university transcript application form and submit at any of the South of North campus to apply.

You can use an extra paper sheet if your number of papers and titles do not fit within the space provided in Point 6.

Requestor’s OWN signature is required on the application form.

Get all mark sheets and degrees photocopied. No notary is needed. Write a Syllabus on a piece of paper by hand or get it typed.

#2 Pay fees on DU website

You will need to register on this DU website to make a payment online.

Once registered, Go to Useful Links (upper right side of the website) > Students > Miscellaneous Online Fee Payment.

You may need the Delhi University Enrollment Number to make the payment online.

The enrollment number is different than ‘Roll Number’ and can be found on top of your Delhi University degree. I have shared the sample DU degree and mark sheets at the bottom of this article. Check there to spot the enrollment number.

Transcript Fees

The transcript fee is charged based on the time frame that has passed after you graduated from university.

Example:

If you passed out in 2015 from Delhi university, you should count the time elapsed between today and the date of passing.

I get asked this question many times as to which PR is better?

My answer is that it varies with your own situation and your preference for weather and how easily you can get the PR.

• If you are currently working in the US on a work visa like H1B and only looking to get PR as a backup, then your first preference should be Canada followed by Australia.
• If you are in your home country like India or China, then either country is good based on which one gets gives you PR invite first.

I am giving comparisons on other lifestyle areas that affect your decision to move.

Travel, Time Zone

If you are currently in US, then:

• If you have a choice between Canada and Australia, my suggestion is to go for Canada to stay in the same time zone as the US.
• You can also come to the US to work and go back anytime easily. Many people stay in Canada on the border and then travel to the US for work every day using their H1B or TN work visa.

Canada PR – Where to land and what to buy from India before landing.

You get to enjoy US salary and Canada’s PR. The USA does not give Green cards easily as the whole system is based on country of birth rather than skilled merit.

Working in US with Canada, Australia Citizenship

Once you get Canada or Australian citizenship, the US gives an option for each country to work in the US using a special type of work visa called TN visa for Canada and an E3 visa for Australians.

TN and E3 visa are other than L and H1B work visas.

If you want to file a US green card after getting Canada or Australia citizenship, you will still be in the same overloaded ‘country of birth’ queue, which you are probably trying to escape now.

IT Salary

• Canada’s IT salaries are lower than US salaries by almost half for the same job title and role. 
• Australian IT salaries are better than Canada for the same job profile but still less than the US. Australia pays about AUD $90k for software

Both Canada and Australia have a low overall population and hence the majority of IT jobs are concentrated in big cities like Toronto, Canada, and Sydney in Australia.

Can you keep working on H1B visa after getting Australia or Canada PR?

Due to high concentration at one place, the cost of living is both cities is extremely high with respect to their salaries.

In contrast, the USA has IT jobs distributed all over the 50 states and you get more for each dollar if you are living in a city away from major hubs like Bay area, California, Boston, or New York City.

Example,

A software engineer with 5-10 years of experience can expect salary of:

1. Canada: 60k CAD as salary (Exchange rate is usually 1 USD = 1.3 CAD)
2. USA: $75k USD
3. Australia: AUD $90k (Exchange rate is usually 1 USD = 1.4 AUD)

A Java Software Engineer may draw a salary of about USD 120K in New York City. The same job in Toronto, Canada will fetch about CAD $80k and AUD $100K in Sydney, Australia.

If you factor in the USD to CAD and USD to the AUD exchange rate, the salaries will look really low in Canada and Australia given the fact that the cost of living in both Toronto and Sydney are the same as living in New York City.

Cost of Living

#2 House Buying, Rental Costs

Rents and housing costs are higher in all 3 countries if you compare major cities like New York City, Toronto, and Sydney.

But, the US has an advantage due to the fact that it has more developed cities than a few major hubs.

You can get a decent job in Charlotte, NC, or Dallas, TX, and a big 4000 Sq Ft house for about half a million US dollars.

You may be able to find a similar house in Canada or Australia but you won’t be able to find a job in a small suburb to finance that purchase.

#3 Income Taxes

Canada and Australia have much higher income tax rates than the US. That’s because you are paying for free healthcare too as part of income tax.

• In the US, you pay the healthcare insurance as part of per pay check deduction if your employer has health insurance plans. 
• At the end of the day, the total deduction would be almost the same in Canada, Australia, and US.

The benefit of private insurance is quick service whereas public free system works on the basis of first in first served.

There are cases that may not get an immediate appointment for surgery or treatment if a more needy person is waiting in the queue before you in Canada and Australia.

#4 Home, Car Insurance

Canada has a much higher rate of car insurance than the US. A Canadian may be easily paying CAD $200+ per month for new Honda civic as compared to about USD $90 per month.

Australia is somewhere closer to the US in car insurance rates but certainly higher.

In the US, my personal opinion is that you can save almost half of the insurance costs by buying only liability insurance.

Weather – Canada vs Australia

Canada is extremely cold as compared to warmer Australia for almost 8 months of the year.

If your kids like playing with snowballs, you should go to Canada. Each one of us has their own preference.

Healthcare – Canada vs Australia

Both Canada and Australia follow the same type of public healthcare system. Public Medical clinic costs are funded by taxes. You can buy private health insurance as per your choice.

This is the same as the FREE government hospital system in India but the quality of service is much better.

• Dental and eye care are not given free of cost in Canada and Australia. You will need to pay out of pocket or buy private insurance.
• There are income slabs too which will force you to buy private health insurance if your income is above a certain level. This will ultimately be the same as buying private insurance in the US.

NABC is an official letter signed by the local registrar or the municipality department mentioning that there is no record of your birth in the government records.

Similarly, Australian, Canadian, and other country immigrants will request either an original birth certificate or a Non-availability birth certificate document (NABC).

A birth certificate should have this information:

• Full Name
• Date of birth (dd/MM/yyyy format is acceptable)
• Place of birth (Village, City, or state name acceptable)
• Mother and Father’s Full Name
• The issuing agency’s official seal
• Registration date – must be within one year of your birth (365 days).
• Birth certificate Issue date – This can be any time after your birth including the current date.

Birth Certificate From Home Country

We will take the example of India to get a birth certificate. The process might be similar in most Asian countries like Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and China.

Even if the process of the agency that issues the birth certificates in your country is different, the content is the same.

Birth Certificate from India

Every Indian state has its process but most of them follow the same process. Your local municipality is responsible for issuing the birth certificate.

These days, most of them have digitalized their records from the past and they should be able to find your birth record from the 1980s. Some of them have also created an online service to request a birth certificate.

Here is a sample birth certificate issued by the Municipality of Delhi in India.

Your birth certificate is acceptable for the USA green card with the form i-485 or I-130 family green card application as long as it has the text written in English.

No Birth Certificate Available

If you do not have a birth certificate, then you would need to provide two secondary documents:

#1 Non-Availability of Birth Record (NABC)

The best option is to get a letter from your home country authority like the municipality in India that they have no record and cannot issue a birth certificate for you.

This letter should be issued by the municipal authority from your birthplace.

This NABC can be used for USA Green Card (i485), Australia PR, Canada PR, New Zealand immigration, and UK residency or work visa.

#2 Notarized Affidavits from Parents/Neighbors/Relatives

The affidavit should mention the details of your birth as recalled by this person.

Your mom and dad can write these affidavits for you. If they are not alive, you can ask any of your close relatives who are older than you to write these.

Two separate persons should write this and describe the place, date, and method of your birth as known to them.

These affidavits should have the details of the person who is writing them:

• Full name, address, date, and place of birth
• Their relationship with you
• How do they know you
• Date and place of your birth
• Names of your father and mother

Any government-recognized authority in your country can Certify documents for an Australian Visa outside Australia.

Example:

1. A notary public can certify documents in India for Australian PR or visa.
   • A first-class gazetted officer can also use their stamp and signature to certify a Xerox (photocopy) of original documents like a passport, university transcripts, and work experience letters.
2. In the USA, the public notary is available with public banks like Bank of America, Chase, etc, including mail companies like USPS, UPS, and FedEx for a fee.
   • Sometimes, in the USA, a notary would issue a ‘notary acknowledgment form’ which is a separate paper and no stamps on actual documents.
   • This is acceptable for Australian immigration. But, a stamp on the actual document copy is preferred.
3. In Australia, a Justice of Peace is acceptable as a notary.

FBI certificate is officially known as Identity History Summary Checks.

All 10 fingerprints are required for running a background check and receiving FBI Clearance Certificate.

You can apply for FBI clearance for Canada permanent residency, USA Green Card, or Australia PR using one of the 3 options:

Apply Online on FBI Website

The FBI Police clearance certificate processing time with an online application is 3 to 5 Days.

Step 1: Create FBI Clearance Request Online

I am not sure why but, the FBI website link throws an invalid_request error in the Chrome browser and the website does NOT open.

Step 2: Enter email to start Application

Follow the steps under the section Obtaining Your Identity History Summary->How to submit a request.

To start your application, enter your email and click the submit button:

Step 3: Email from FBI

Once you submit, you will receive an email from the FBI with your login password and unique FBI page link.

Click this unique link and fill the FBI application form.

Enter your PIN (from email) and click Log in. ‘Accept’ the terms and conditions.

Step 4: Fill Online Application

You have the option to receive a response by First-Class Mail via the USPS too.

• FBI Police clearance fees are $18.
• Pay FBI fees online by credit card.
• No extra fees for postal mail response.

At this time, the STATUS on the FBI website will show as ‘INSUFFICIENT’ for your case as the FBI is waiting for your fingerprints.

Step 5: Get Fingerprints

Print FD-258 form on a plain A4 size white paper and write with Blank ink.

You can buy FD258 card from Amazon:

• FD 258 card from Amazon prime (pack of 3) or
• Pack of 25 FD 258 cards.

The fingerprint card needs to be printed on a hard white paper. I recommend buying it from Amazon than printing it at home.

Take Fingerprints Yourself?

You can pretty much take the fingerprints yourself if you are outside the USA like in India or any other country.

I strongly recommend getting the fingerprints from your local Police station if you are currently in the USA.

Fingerprints at FedEx Mail Office?

FedEx and other local postal mail vendors in the USA also provide fingerprinting services for a price starting from $25+ per person.

I tried for me and my wife as it seemed pretty easy using this official FBI fingerprint guide. But the ink was just messing up the fine finger lines and merging them. If the fingerprints are not good, the FBI will simply reject your application.

Local Police Station in USA

The local police station in the USA charges anywhere between $5 to $10 for each person’s fingerprints and they are experts.

They provide the form FD-258 too. So, you do not need to print it yourself.

Most of them will do it for free again, if the first prints are rejected by FBI.

This is a sample FD-258 form that was fingerprinted using Plano, TX Police station’s fingerprinting service:

Step 6: Print and Mail

Print the order confirmation email that you would have received from the FBI.

Send the email confirmation and form FD-258 (with your fingerprints) to the FBI CJIS division by postal mail. You can mail them to the FBI from outside the USA too.

Step 7: Tracking & Processing

Once the mail is delivered to the FBI, they usually take about 48 hours to update the tracking status on their website and inform you by email.

FBI will then scan your fingerprints to complete your criminal record background check.

The whole process of an FBI background check is automated and you can expect to receive the clearance certificate within minutes of their acknowledgment email (for your fingerprints).

• You can download the FBI clearance PDF file once available.
• If you opted for postal mail FBI clearance certificate too, then it will arrive by USPS mail between 6-7 days.

The paper hard copy is exactly same as the PDF.

FBI Clearance by Postal mail

FBI police clearance request by postal mail processing time is 14 to 16 weeks.

1. Download the FBI police verification application form from here. Print and fill up the form.
2. Get a Cashier’s check or Money Order for $18 per person as fees, payable to the “Treasury of the United States”.
   You can pay by credit card too. Print this payment form and fill in your credit card info to send with your application.
3. Get your fingerprints. Follow the same process as listed above for FINGERPRINTS.
4. Send application, payment, and fingerprints to the FBI office via traceable postal mail. The address is mentioned above.

This is the SLOWEST method of getting police verification from the FBI.

The ONLY difference between this method and the first option above is that you make the payment online in the first method. The first one is a lot faster than this one.

FBI Approved Third Party Agents

FBI Police clearance processing time with third party providers is 3-4 days. This is the fastest and most expensive option.

1. Choose one third-party vendor from the FBI-approved list.
2. They take your fingerprints electronically and transmit them to the FBI electronically too. This makes the process the fastest among the 3 options.
3. They are available outside the USA too in a country like India.
4. This is probably the fastest method to get an FBI clearance certificate for Canada immigration or Australia PR if you are located outside the USA.
5. The fees vary with each vendor and normally start from $200 per person. They collect the total fees from you, including the FBI’s $18 fees per person.

FBI officially says that this third party service is ONLY available for USA citizens and Green cardholders.

But, I know from reliable sources who are neither US citizens nor green holders and have used it to get FBI clearance within 3-4 days.

Try to bring your score within 5 points of the last invited score and your chances of invitation in the next draw will increase by 50%.

If you can match the highest score, you can get the pre-invite from the state easily too.

Australia PR values your skills and your work experience. The points are distributed evenly around your profile ranging from age, education, and your life partner’s skills.

My Personal Experience on How to Increase Points

#1 Age

Australia is a growing economy and prefers younger migrants over older ones. The good thing is that as you age, you gain work experience points and hence can get extra mileage over young applicants.

• Less than 18 years – Zero points – Eligible to apply as a dependent.
• 18-24 years – 25 points.
• 25-32 years – 30 points.
• 33-39 years – 25 points.
• 40-44 years – 15 points.
• 45+ years – Zero points and not eligible to apply for PR.

Note that you are considered 32 till you are 32 years 11 months and 30 days old.

The Age will change to 33 on your 33rd birthday automatically by the SkillSelect system and your points are decreased as per the slab.

You cannot change your age but if your spouse is younger than you, you should create a separate EOI and make your spouse a primary applicant.

#2 English Language

English language test result is mandatory and can contribute a maximum of 20 points to your PR journey.

I recommend taking the PTE test as I could score 79+ within a week of preparation using free online videos. I did not use any paid online PTE tests. The free ones are good enough to get the top score.

As per my personal experience, PTE is easier to score than IELTS. I have tried IELTS thrice earlier but could not achieve above the 7 overall-score as I feel it has a human bias involved.

Most people who I have interacted with have been successfully able to get Superior scores as:

• PTE – In the first or second attempt.
• IELTS – It takes at least 3 attempts to get the highest marks.
• Others – My suggestion is to keep away from other tests and not waste time.

It is absolutely important that you aim for a superior score if you want to have a realistic chance of being invited to the states as they look for good English skills to easily settle down in Australia.

#3 Employment

The total points for employment cannot be more than 20 after adding both the outside and in-Australia work experience.

Your total work experience should be in the same field as your ANZSCO code.

Example:

• If you choose the 261313 code, your full work experience should be related to the Software Engineer field.
• A Software Tester cannot apply as a Software Engineer or Developer Programmer unless your roles and responsibilities letter mention coding work.
• A Software Project Manager work for a portion of your entire career will not qualify you to get full work experience as a Software Engineer.

Note that employment days are counted backward starting today. This means that EOI will automatically update your work experience points to every new day if you keep the ‘end date’ for current employment empty.

I strongly suggest removing the end date of your current active employment from your Skill Select profile. Your date of effect will change if total points increase. Do not leave these extra points on the table!

#4 Education

Your education has the potential of taking you ahead of other PR applicants in the same pool.

Outside Australia

• Doctorate or Ph.D. Degree – 20 Points
• Bachelor or Masters Degree – 15 points
• An award or qualification like Certifications– 10 Points
• A diploma or trade qualification completed in Australia – 10 Points

Additional points as a cherry on the cake over and above your highest education qualification:

1. Add +10 points if you got your Master’s degree by research or a Doctorate degree from an Australian educational institution that included at least 2 academic years in the STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) or specified information and communication technology (ICT) fields.
2. Add +5 points if you have studied at least 1 degree or diploma from all your education physically in Australia.
3. Add +5 points if you have completed Professional Year in Accounting, ICT/Computing, or Engineering in the last 12 months physically in Australia.
4. Add +5 points if you studied in regional Australia. Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane are not counted as regional.
5. Add +5 points if you passed a NAATI test in a local community language.

#5 Spouse Skills / Single

Employer Sponsorship for PR

Employer sponsorship is optional in Australia and is only required by some states for 190 visas.

491 is not a PR and it does need employer sponsorship. You can directly file 189, and 190 permanent residency applications.

Some states do require you to have a valid job offer to show for 190 visa nominations but it is not a hard and fast rule there.

• With employer or family sponsorship, you can get the 491 visas to work and live in regional areas but this is not a direct PR.
• You will be eligible for PR later after you are able to fulfill your 491 conditions.

189 and 190 PR visas do not have any points for family or employer sponsorship.

If you have the required points, you will be selected and will get a PR even before you travel to Australia.

USA H1B to Australia PR

If you are currently working on an H1B in the US and fed up with the long waiting for a green card, Australia PR is a good option. They give you Permanent residency (Australian Green Card) even before you land there for the first time!

• You do not get any extra points or preferences just because you have worked in the US.
• Your total US work experience is counted at par with other countries.

Can you maintain Australia or Canada PR with H1B Visa?

Police Clearance Certificate

A police clearance certificate is required from all adults (18+) for Australia permanent residency, who are part of your PR application, from all countries where you have lived in the past 10 years.

If you are an Indian, apply

• Indian Police certificate from Indian Embassy if living outside India.
• PCC from the Indian Passport office if residing in India.

If you have lived or are living in the USA, you will need an FBI Clearance certificate along with a US state police clearance certificate. Remember you will need the US FD-258 fingerprint card for the FBI.

Example:

If you are currently living in Texas for the last 4 months and moved from California, then you would need both state’s Criminal history records along with the FBI report.

Statutory Document Support Proofs

You will need to submit any one of these proofs along with the statutory document for the Australia PR Assessment

1. Certified copy of your payslips – preferably first & last payslip for the employment period. OR
2. Certified copy of a Human Resource statement or Service Certificate with employment dates – Also called relieving letter in India. OR
   An employment agreement or offer letter or Appointment or joining letter is not acceptable.

If you are submitting a co-worker reference letter for ACS assessment, you also need to get a letter from your employer on official letterhead explaining the reason for not issuing a roles and responsibilities letter.

Skill experience letter for Australia from Colleague

This co-worker experience letter can be printed either on the employer’s letterhead or a plain piece of paper or a stamp paper (India).

If the colleague has left the previous employer too, this should be clearly mentioned in the letter that the current person is NOT working with the previous employer.

Colleague Letter Notary

Notarization is required for your manager or colleague’s letter. You may use this letter for ACS Assessment for Australia 189/190 permanent residency.

You do not need English test results for filing ACS.

PTE and IELTS can be done in parallel with ACS evaluation.

ACS assessment fee is AUD $500. 

ACS assessment processing time is 4 weeks. Officially ACS says that it takes about 10-12 weeks to get the ACS assessment report though.

Documents Required

#1 Birth Certificate or Passport

Only the Applicant details page is required from the passport. No need to submit all passport pages.

Example:

In the case of an Indian Passport, submit only the first and last page showing your photo and address.

#2. IDs (Two) other than Passport

Two separate government-issued IDs are required apart from the passport. One of these IDs should have a photograph. These two IDs can be either from your country of birth or the country of current residence.

Example:

• In India, you can use an Aadhar card and driving license.
• If you are an Indian citizen living in the USA, you can provide a US driving license and SSN card.

#3 Education Degree or Award Certificate

You need to submit a degree for your education above Senior secondary i.e. above 12th standard.

In the Australian culture, the degree is called tertiary education.

• Title of Degree or Award – Example: Masters of Computer Applications.
• Name of University or College – Example: Delhi University
• The date the Degree was completed should be mentioned.

Note that the education will not be counted as relevant if there is no degree.

If the date printed on your degree does not match your education completion, you can choose to either write the last examination date or the date printed on the degree.

#4 Mark Sheets or Mark sheet Transcript

Education mark sheets should have Unit or Subject Names in addition to grades or marks Achieved.

There is no need to get sealed transcripts for the degree or mark sheets.

#5 Work Experience Letters

ACS Work Experience letter format requires you to have all your roles and responsibilities mentioned clearly.

Use Sample skill letter for Australia PR to provide information about your day-to-day job responsibilities to ACS for your Australia ANZSCO job code.

• The start date and end date for the job have to be clearly mentioned.
• If you just mention the month like JUNE 2018 to MAR 2019, ACS will assume it to be the LAST day of that month for calculating your total work experience.

The official employer Letterhead is mandatory.

If you cannot get an employer letter, you can get your roles and responsibilities letter from colleagues or co-workers.

#6 Resume

Uploading a resume to ACS assessment is optional even though official ACS guidelines do ask for a CV.

Evidence of Paid Employment

You can submit any two documents as evidence of paid employment:

#1 Official Government Tax Records

Documents that may include payment summaries, group certificates, or notices of assessment (citing company and applicant name) –

Example:

• Form 16 (India),
• Income tax returns – ITR (India), W2 (USA)
• Provident fund deduction,
• 401k (USA),
• Social Security Deductions (USA)
• Group Health Insurance Card where the premium was paid by an employer
• Superannuation Payments

#2 Payslips

You should submit one payslip from the start of each year of employment and one from the end of that year.

The salary statement or the pay stub should have the employer and employee names clearly mentioned.

If the employer’s name is not mentioned or not clearly visible, ACS will give a negative result.

#3 Bank Statements

Bank statements showing salary payments from an employer with employee and employer name.

If the employer’s name is not showing up in the Bank statement, ACS may not accept it. Sometimes, they do accept if the bank can provide a separate letter saying that the employer’s name could not be printed on the reports.

The bank statement is required for each salary pay. To reduce the size of the file, you can only get the statement from the bank which shows the salary credit.

PDF File Scan, Size for ACS

ACS allows uploading up to 8 PDF files with a maximum of 3 MB in size.

Use free ADOBE Scan mobile apps to easily scan your documents. This app also reduces the total PDF file size for easy upload to ACS.

Only color copies are accepted. Black and white scans will be rejected.

A separate PDF file should be created for each qualification type and for each Employment reference.

Example:

• You will have 1 PDF for your passport.
• Then, the second one for your Master’s/Bachelor’s degree + Mark sheets (all years)
• Then, the third one for your Employment 1 reference letter along with payment evidence.
• Then, the fourth one for your Employment 2 reference letter and so on.

Max 8 documents can be evaluated for 1 application fee.

This essentially means 8 PDF files excluding the passport PDF.

PDF Filename should clearly state the content of the file.
Example,

• PDF 1 can be named ‘Passport.pdf‘.
• PDF 2 with Masters’s degree and mark sheet can be named ‘Education 1 – Master of Computer Application.pdf’
• PDF 3 with Employment 1 can be named ‘Employment 1 – ABC technologies Ltd’.

Awaiting Documents Email

If ACS needs any more documents from you, they will send you an email and move the application status to ‘Awaiting Documents’.

If you have not received an email from them and still the status shows ‘Awaiting documents’, try these options to upload the documents to ACS.

Revalidation

The ACS re-validation fee is AUD $300.

You can apply for revalidation but I would not recommend it until you are sure of ACS’s mistake as they just re-do the same process that they did earlier.

You can communicate with ACS over email or call them to understand how they evaluated your education and work experience before opting for re-validation.

Current Employment End Date

The employment End date has to be mentioned for all employment.

ACS will consider the date printed on your current and active employment as the end date for counting the work experience.

Do not worry, you can keep the end date BLANK for current and active employment while filling Australia EOI to increase your work experience points automatically.

Once you are past the education and employment entry page, you will receive an email to create your PASSWORD. Follow that link. It will ask you to enter your email and send you a new link to reset your password.

Once you create a new password, you are logged in to ACS for completing your application.

In-Progress or with Assessor

Once you submit your application, it is normal for it to stay at the “In Progress” step for about 10-15 days.

Once the preliminary verification of your documents is done, the next status would show up as “with Assessor“.

The assessor is the person who will judge your educational and work experience and give the results.

ACS may send the documents to the employer for verification if they feel something has been tampered with. This will delay your ACS report.

Chances of Initial Entry Date Extension?

The first entry date is mentioned as ‘On first Entry, Arrive by’.

The chances of approval of the Initial entry date (IED) vary with your situation. You should request the advancement of the entry date only if you have a legitimate reason.

Examples of valid reasons for extending PR entry date:

#1 Pregnant Wife

Many families have a situation where they cannot travel as the lady in the house is expecting to deliver.

If you are planning to request an extension, you should send the doctor’s travel recommendation on official letterhead.

#2 Kid Study Completion – Exams

You can wait till your kid completes a particular standard or year in your home country.

To make your case stronger, it is better to send the official letter from the school principal in your email to Australia immigration.

#3 Medical Condition

Make sure that you have declared your medical condition while applying for your Australia PR.

If this is a new condition, then you can request your date change with the doctor’s letter.

#4 Coronavirus Travel Bans

You should be easily able to get an extension with Coronavirus travel bans in place.

Most people are getting an automated reply email from Australian immigration which says that you can enter before the end of your Australian PR’s 5-year term anytime.

We believe that this is an exception and Australian immigration officers at the airport will understand your situation and should allow you to enter Australia even after your IED date has passed.

I do not think there are any supporting documents required unless specifically requested by the immigration officer.

DIBP IED Extension Policy

DIBP is usually pretty strict with the Initial Entry Date (IED) and clearly, mentions that **cannot be changed or extended** once the visa is granted.

The visa holder must enter Australia before the date specified.

Your visa can be canceled if you do not enter by the initial entry date unless exceptional and compelling reasons have prevented them from traveling.

IED extension facilitation letter

Australian immigration department sends an official letter which shows a new extended entry date. This letter is called the ‘IED facilitation letter’.

You will be asked to show this letter at immigration check after landing at Australian airport.

Thank you for your email, and for the emails your client has sent.

Please find attached a facilitation letter that will facilitate your client’s entry into Australia after the Initial Entry Date expiry. Please draw your client’s attention to the specific clause titled “Children Born outside of Australia”, copied below with regard to the impending birth of the client’s twin children.
